Stop the Grind Now

STOP THE GRIND NOW!
This UK Government E-petition is directly challenging the brutal Dolphin Hunts which are happening now, regularly, in the Faroe Islands, just 180 miles north of Scotland, U.K.
Why?
In Oct 2020, the UK Conservative Government signed a UK-Faroes Fish Trade Agreement. Just 1 year later, on 12th Sept 2021, 1428 Dolphins were slaughtered by Faroe Islanders in their Dolphin Hunt called the Grindadrap...
We call it The Grind Hunt
Despite Grind Hunts continuing regularly, the new UK Labour Government have agreed and signed an updated UK-Faroes Fish Trade Deal in January 2025.
Faroe Island Fisheries are a majority supplier to the UK Fish Markets supplying all UK Consumers with cod, haddock, farmed salmon, shellfish...includes supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and our favourite fish'n'chip shops...

Our Stop the Grind Petitions raise awareness of Dolphin Grind Hunts and demand an end to this hidden inhumane suffering of dolphins, who are protected under the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act 2022... this new legislation that protects every animal with a 'backbone'.

This Act recognises that animals with backbones have the capacity to feel pain, have feelings, sensations, and experiences, encompassing awareness, emotional reactions, and the ability to evaluate actions and consequences.

The Grind devastates family pods of dolphins, who are related, with calves and pregnant females amongst them. Dolphins will be fully aware of the death of family beside them as they try to communicate during the prolonged hunts.

Currently UK Consumers indirectly fund Dolphin Grind Hunts in order to service our traditional fish'n'chip suppers.
